For clients wishing to maintain or improve health, but not challenged with serious illness or disease, we emphasize the use of whole food nutrition to prevent disease and promote wellness. Beginning with deciphering product labels, understanding plate ratios and portion sizes, we progress to helping you understand the need for and role of macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, and protein) and micronutrients, the vitamins and minerals essential for human growth, maintenance, and repair.

If you have previously diagnosed disease, we shift our focus to therapeutic nutrition, working with a broader team of medical professionals to design nutritional programs based on the nutritive and physical challenges posed by your particular health situation. Our disease-specific counseling guides you in the use of therapeutic foods, herbs, and balance of macronutrients. We support you with meal preparation and nutritional guidance for your particular health challenge, including cardiovascular disease, weight management, autoimmune diseases, food allergies and intolerances, cancer related, or special diets.

We also offer nutritional counseling to those needing pre-operative, post-operative, or operative-avoidance nutritional support.

Health challenge: Severely obese client with Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and depression, and could only walk for 10 minutes.
Recommended plan: Nutrition education, dietary changes, light exercise  
Result: Client lost 65 pounds, eliminated 7 of 9 daily medications, increased stamina allowing her to walk for 60 minutes. Blood pressure and cholesterol reduced to the normal range, and client no longer has type 2 diabetes.
